Army thwarts drug smuggling attempts from Syria using 2 drones

AMMAN — The Eastern Military Zone on Tuesday thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs from Syria using two drones. An official military source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) said that the Border Guards, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Department, spotted the two drones while trying to cross the border illegally, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The source added that the drones were laden with crystal meth, and they were referred to the concerned authorities. The source added that the army will show zero tolerance towards any threats to national security.
